A Snow Day at the Beach! :: Life

I think this is a first for me. Aside from the fact that I was born in Alaska where frigid beaches were kind of a given, I've yet to be on a beach in the continental US where I've actually watched it snow. Until today. It's a true blizzard outside and I'm in LOVE. Colton is on his way home from work, at nine-o-two, after a two hour delay pushed his start time to 9am. I feel like we've been given a free weekend and I'm soexcitedIcouldsqueal. What should we do, friends? Drink hot cocoa? Watch home movies? Snuggle?! On that note, do you think we'll still get paid for his two minute work day?!

Happy {SNOW} day!

Wild and Crazy :: Life

I found this picture the other day and thought it fitting for a New Year's Eve post. Neither Colton nor I grew up in families where New Year's Eve was celebrated with any sort of great zeal. Occasionally my parents would go out and leave my brothers and I with an assortment of movies, snacks, and lottery tickets to scratch at midnight. And occasionally I made it to midnight and happily enjoyed my date with Dick Clark and that sparkly magic ball. We were a real riot. Last year the holiday fell two nights before our wedding day and in celebration we gathered all of our friends and family who had traveled for the wedding. Exhaustion from the weeks and months of preparation had been mounting for days and roughly around 10pm Colton and I thought it would be the ideal time to fall asleep in the living room. What kind of people fall asleep at their own New Year's Eve party?! For real, Internet, we are crazy, crazy, people. Wild and crazy.

{please excuse the painfully bad scan}

Happy New Year, Y'all,

A Winter Wonderland :: Photography

Colton and I flew into Grand Forks, North Dakota late last night and we're enjoying every part of our winter wonderland adventure before shooting Joe and Jill's wedding tomorrow afternoon. We managed to snap a few pictures outside before Jill's family spoiled us with good meals, local tours, and lots of warm hugs. I know we've only been here a few hours but they've already made us feel like family.

Happy Wednesday!
