Cody + Kelly

I’m not entirely sure how to introduce you to Cody + Kelly. Colton and I have known these two for years and have always hoped (but really kind of knew) that that they were in it forever. When said together, they’re names are most often followed with an ‘aww, I love those two!’ – or some similar sort of cooing and swooning. They’re the type of couple that makes you especially angry because you cannot possibly find one bad thing to say about them. This, in turn, is annoying to the umpteenth degree. Furthermore, they’re the type of couple that insists they take you out for dinner after their engagement session and absolutely, positively will not take no for an answer (thankyouforthebestsushiever!). So yes, we love them.

Cody + Kelly are getting married next September and while I’m a little miffed I have to wait nine months until their big day, I couldn’t possibly be any more excited for them and this crazy wonderful season of life that they’re in. A few days after Christmas we bundled up and met at downtown Bend’s Drake Park for an afternoon of fun pictures and lots of laughs. And fortunately for me they invited the world’s second cutest puppy…

Enjoy just a little taste of Cody + Kelly’s Bend engagement session!

Don't you just LOVE Charli?! I want her and Conway to be best best friends.

At the end of our session we hopped into the nearby coffee shop, Bellatazza, where Kelly used to work. It was the perfect timing for a warm cup of coffee and a little cozying up in the corner.

The Winkler Family

I first met Hannah three weeks before my first year of high school. We were the only two, little bebe freshman on the Varsity soccer team and we (well, at the very least, me) were absolutely mortified. I was afraid of all of the older, prettier, more amazing-er girls on the team (let’s not even worry about the fact that one of them was Colton’s sister) and I was absolutely convinced that if I could just find a way to never say a word or make a wrong move, I could go unnoticed and therefore unscathed. But then there was Hannah. Athletic, hilarious, outgoing Hannah who made me feel like maybe, just maybe, we wouldn’t be eaten alive. So that’s how I know Hannah.

Hannah’s family is from Oregon but for the past three years they’ve been spread across the world. This Christmas marked the first time in far too long that the entire family was together in one place. When Hannah asked if I would be able to capture a few photos of their entire group, I jumped on the opportunity. We spent the afternoon at Black Butte Ranch traipsing through the snow and sitting in front of the fireplace as we caught up on all of the latest and greatest in the Winkler family. I hope you enjoy just a few of my favorites from our day at the lodge…

At the end of our session, Hannah asked if I wouldn't mind grabbing a few headshots for her. Hannah lives in LA and is an actress. You can see her in her latest commercial, HERE!

Matt + Jo An

Since the weather outside really does seem quite frightful, it makes me so happy to get to share Matt and Jo An's warm + sunny e-session with you. Jo An booked me over the internet so this engagement session was the first time I was able to meet both her and Matt. I had so much fun walking and laughing and traipsing around the neighborhood with these two as we explored San Juan Capistrano's historic Los Rios district. While Matt and Jo An are getting married next summer at Sisters' Five Pine Lodge, they currently live in Southern California where Matt is stationed in the Air Force. It worked perfectly to have their engagement session in Orange County - a place that always seems to have the most lovely evening light during the winter months. Matt + Jo An, thank you so much for making the drive to San Juan Capistrano for the afternoon. Getting to spend the day with you has me all excited for next summer. Your love and joy and infectious smiles will have me looking forward to August all throughout this cold and dreary winter!!

MerryMerry Christmas!!

M.

I especially love Matt + Jo An because they never stop laughing. Throughout our entire session they were all smiles - making me one happy photographer myself!

Jo An, YOU ARE SO PRETTY!!

Matt + Jo An told me they didn't know how to dance. And then I was all, riiiiight.
